More than 4,000 guests celebrated the start of the season at Babcock Ranch’s third annual holiday event, emceed by NBC-2 News anchor Lisa Spooner.

After making a grand entrance on a horse-drawn sleigh and parading around Founder’s Square, Santa Claus posed for photos with children of all ages and lit the Christmas tree at Babcock Ranch, Florida’s unique eco-centric, solar-powered town just northeast of Fort Myers on Babcock Ranch Road/State Road 31.

The festive, family-friendly evening also featured performances by the Babcock Neighborhood School chorus, The Alva School chorus and band, Bloom Academy and the Babcock Neighborhood School cheerleaders.

More than two dozen model and quick-delivery homes are now open or under construction by Arthur Rutenberg Homes, Divco Custom Homes, Florida Lifestyle Homes, Fox Premier Builders, Lennar, Meritage Homes, Pulte Homes, Stock Classic Homes and WCI. Many models are open for viewing daily.
