Van Emmerik Custom Homes has completed construction of the largest home within Talis Park’s exclusive Prato estate neighborhood. With architecture and planning by Weber Design Group and interiors by Design West, this impressive residence is situated on an acre lot and offers some of the most spectacular curb appeal within this community.

The Tuscan-inspired estate home encompasses almost 24,000 square feet under roof boasting six bedrooms, seven full baths and two half baths with additional features including formal living and dining rooms, exercise room, formal salon, a study, spa room, wine room and crafting room within the main house. Connected via covered walkway, a two-story guesthouse offers an additional three bedrooms and two baths, extra storage and a two-car garage while on the opposing side, another covered walkway leads to a two-story home office that includes a conference room and upstairs hobby room.

“It was an honor to build this magnificent home designed by Weber Design Group,” says Chris Van Emmerik, president of Van Emmerik Custom Homes. “When pulling in the driveway, the sheer size of this residence is remarkable on its own. But as you walk the grounds and take it all in, you realize there are numerous features that really make this an exquisite and one-of-a-kind home.”

The concept of this floor plan was to provide the homeowners with privacy yet still lend itself enough indoor and outdoor spaces that can be enjoyed together by the entire family.

The exterior is composed of a smooth stucco finish, barreled tile roof, precast columns, arched entry and windows, decorative scroll and wrought-iron work and multiple trellises. Galala stone shipped from Egypt covers the entire driveway and was also used as trim around the windows, arches and columns.

The entry system features arched double-doors with glass transom surrounded by multilevel precast trim. Inside, the two-story foyer is overlooked by a Juliet balcony, radial ceiling design with a two-tiered exposed beam detail and a grand chandelier. The sweeping staircase features hand-stained railings with custom wrought-iron detailing that curves around a crystal beveled arc chandelier.

A two-story wall of glass floods the foyer and formal living spaces with natural light, highlighting the 18-foot fireplace, grid format coffered ceiling with wood beams and views of the resort-style poolscapes created by Outside Productions Inc.

A series of arches flanked by precast columns lead way into the formal dining room which features a radial ceiling design, dark wood floors and a built-in, marble top buffet just off the wet bar and butler’s pantry. An adjacent wine room hosts built-in wine racks, a barreled brick ceiling and unique wine bottle chandelier. The nearby formal powder bath with sitting room features a Mother of Pearl mosaic tile wall and an embossed metal sink.

A 120-foot gallery, featuring custom hand applied Venetian plaster, runs from one end of the home to the other and leads to a master suite vestibule equipped with a morning bar and direct access to her formal study. Another hallway, opening to the master bath vestibule, assists in separating the his-and-her private baths that are finished with crushed metallic granite vanities and hand-carved onyx sinks, his-and-her walk-in steam showers and his-and-her large walk-in closets.

A centralized spa room is the main focus of this dramatic space. Surrounded by an outside privacy wall, with cascading waterfall feature which spills into a reflection pond, this fully glass room hosts a centralized, custom made round tub with spillover effect, two additional stand-alone shower heads and a vaulted ceiling capped by a two story cupola with windows and rope lighting.

Another memory point for this design is the two-story kitchen which includes a vaulted cathedral ceiling and suspended lighting over a 16-foot long island. Finished in an African petrified wood, this massive island includes two copper sinks, double dishwashers, ice maker and seating for up to six. A radial window design on the rear wall highlights the unique woven tile finish along with the large stainless steel Wolf cook top and hood.

Just beyond the kitchen, a multifunctional room is used as crafting space, laundry room and children’s homework area. Custom cream cabinetry and sea glass toned mosaic tile backsplash, dual entries and a large center island complete this space.

The massive covered lanai features a fully functioning outdoor kitchen and bar, multiple seating and lounging areas just steps away from the pool and spa replete with greenery and specialty lighting.

Upstairs, an exercise room complete with juice bar, custom padded flooring and built-in storage cabinet, has a mirrored wall and hanging television. A children’s media room hosts a built-in snack bar and direct access to a large trellis-covered patio that overlooks the golf course and swimming pool below. Four bedrooms with private baths and walk-in closets are also upstairs along with an additional laundry room, extra storage and multiple balconies.
