BABCOCK RANCH — Infrastructure work is underway at Crescent B Commons, a Publix-anchored 82,640-square-foot shopping center at a new entrance to Babcock Ranch

The center is being built about one mile south of the existing entrance on Babcock Ranch Road/State Road 31, according to a statement, and vertical construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter, with a projected completion of summer 2021. It’s currently 65% leased, with Publix Liquors, Encore Nails, Pi Pizza and M’xuma Tacos executing leases in the past 90 days, the release adds. The 48,387-square-foot Publix will also feature a drive-thru pharmacy.

Kitson & Partners, the developer of Babcock Ranch, is seeing steady tenant demand in categories including restaurants, health care, pet care, financial services, and general daily needs, such as dry cleaners, pack and ship, and salons and spas, the release states. The shopping center contains 19,600 square feet of in-line space, as well as three available outparcels along Cypress Parkway totaling 14,653 square feet.

“As Babcock Ranch continues to grow, we are excited to offer our residents and neighbors in the area the convenience of a nearby Publix and additional services, shops, and multiple dining options,” Kitson & Partners President and Chief Investment Officer Tom Hoban says in the release. “Crescent B Commons will align with Babcock Ranch’s distinctive style, with outdoor areas offering opportunities for shoppers to sit and enjoy the natural beauty of our area.”

Babcock Ranch, billed as America’s first solar-powered town, is northeast of Fort Myers on Babcock Ranch Road/State Road 31. The community began marketing new homes in 2017, with the first residents moving into the town in January 2018.
