Syd Kitson, the mastermind behind America’s first solar-powered town, is now on a new mission to revitalize Florida.

Kitson is one of 22 handpicked by Governor Ron DeSantis to be a part of his Re-Open Florida Task Force Executive Committee.

“How we’re going to open up is going to be critical. And there is no light switch,” Kitson said.

Kitson believes even with differing perspectives on when to re-open, science and medical professionals will help decide when the timing is right.

Although, it’s ultimately up to Floridians to be responsible — even after the state re-opens.

“At least the calls I’ve been in, they’ve been non-political. There’s nothing political about these phone calls. They’re about getting down to the issues that we face and each one of these issues is complex,” Kitson said.

Kitson is also Chairman for the Board of Governors for the State University System.
