Pulte Homes, one of the nation’s leading builders, is partnering with Kitson & Partners to construct more than 150 homes at Babcock Ranch.Pulte will be introducing a variety of floor plans at prices that should be attractive to young families and empty-nesters — all within walking distance to restaurants, shops and a school at the heart of the nation’s first solar-powered town. The agreement was announced last week.

At Babcock Ranch, every home will include a full gigabyte of fiber-optic connectivity, and an environmentally friendly lifestyle powered by the 443-acre 75mw Florida Power & Light solar power plant located within the town. With a projected population of 50,000 at build-out, the new town of 19,500 homes and 6 million square feet of commercial space is the largest new development currently underway in the U.S. The development is north of Fort Myers off State Road 31.

Pulte will also be constructing homes in the Lake Timber neighborhood. With front porches providing spectacular views across Lake Babcock and Founder’s Square, prices for those homes will start in the high $200s.

“Pulte and Lennar have worked very well together on adjacent projects in the past and we are looking forward to similar success here,” said Rick Severance, president of Babcock Ranch. “Their two neighborhoods complement each other and combine to provide a diverse selection of homes at attractive price points.”

Pulte Homes, a national brand of PulteGroup Inc., has been building homes for more than 65 years. Since 1950, the company has worked with nearly 655,000 families. The company operates in approximately 50 markets throughout the U.S.

Pulte Homes will offer a premier selection of single-family home designs featuring elegant and contemporary exteriors that blend seamlessly into the picturesque streetscape at Babcock Ranch.

The one- and two-story plans will include gathering areas perfect for entertaining and flexible and functional living spaces. Each distinctive floor plan will offer 1,674 to over 3,100 square feet with two to five bedrooms and two to four baths.

Homebuyers will also have the opportunity to choose from a collection of design features and finishes to personalize their home, including options such as gourmet kitchens, extended walk-in showers, zero-corner pocket sliding glass doors, extended lanais and custom pools.

“Babcock Ranch is the perfect location for families, empty-nesters and retirees who want a walkable, bike-able and connective community where residents all know each other,” said Mr. McCormick. “Pulte’s consumer inspired floor plans include innovative features and are built for the way modern families live in their homes today.
