William Smith

Bill began his 33-year investment banking career at Paine Webber in 1967. When he left Blyth Eastman Paine Webber in 1982, he was a Managing Director, Head of the Real Estate and Financial Institutions Groups in the Investment Banking Department and a member of the Investment Banking Department Management Committee.

Bill joined Dean Witter in 1982 as a co-founder of Dean Witter Realty, where he was a Managing Director and co-Head from 1982 to 1987. For the next ten years, Bill served as Executive Vice President and Head of the Investment Banking Department and the Investment Banking Department Management Committee of Dean Witter Reynolds.

When Morgan Stanley and Dean Witter merged in 1997, Bill became a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley, Head of Morgan Stanley Realty and a member of the Investment Banking Department Operating Committee of Morgan Stanley. Since July 2000, he has been a financial advisor, board member and investor in various public and private entities, primarily in real estate.

Bill graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1965 and from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters of Business Administration degree in 1967.
